Gaya Street CNY 2010 celebration

Today (actually a few days earlier ..., now only i manage to start this penning) li fei and I went to Gaya street since we got to know that there are some CNY celebration going on over there.. so my boss had been machine-gunning me for the past 1 and a half year for never bringing her to sabah pasar malam.. So here comes the opportunity, so we just head down to Gaya street straight after our family dinner.. so i left my pitiful mum home with my dad, Why pitiful? cause apparently my dad is not an enthusiast in pasar malam or pagi kinda thing.. thats why she has never been to one ever since she came here (that was like 8 or 9 years already). I have asked her to join, but she didnt want to join, maybe because she thought will kacau us pak tohing or simply because dont want to leave my dad alone in the house.. so, without much persuasion being done, we grab the keys and most importantly my 1000D and the 50mm f1.8 lens..

i have always been trying to appreciate the 50mm, since everyone in the photomalaysia.com has been heavily promoting this lens, but not until recently only i found out the magic in it.. Really.. initially, i found this lens pretty dumb hahaha.. coz u cant zoom for ONE, then no IS some more.. then it is50mm on a crop body (my 1000d) so it gives around 80+mm.. so very hard to take pic in close distance.. I almost consider to sell it off in the BUY/SELL forum in photomalaysia.com

But after a few outing with it.. i finally understand its greatness.. Definitely a very SHARP and FAST lens, and it makes wonders in low light..

below are all taken with my precious 50mm f1.8...

So this is my boss.. have been telling everyone the same thing...
I drive her to work, pick her from work, worried that she gets angry, whenever she is quiet, i am worried, had to talk gently to her, so why wont she be categorised as my boss leh?? hehehe...

The entrance to the Gaya street Night market for CNY 2010. This night market happens only (i believe) on certain big occassion like the Chrismass, and CNY for example. Other days, you only get to see street, cars and a bunch of tourists..

Tonight, it was totally in celebrative mood..You hear GONG XI GONG XI songs everywhere, everything is practically in red, lanterns everywhere.. everyone is happy...
Seller happily cashing in, buyer happily parting with their monies..

One chinese proverb describe everything , but too bad, i dont write my own langguage.. just able to speak only.. another regret of my life.. and i dont feel like doing anything about it. hehe
Directly translated to english would be

people mountain, people sea..

Besides the stalls, there are also singing competiton going on. Mostly uncle and aunties, probably tired of strolling the stalls already.. so mai enjoy the show first ... some pretty good, which you should be since it is a singing competition, some i rather salute them for having the courage to even go on stage to open their mouth... clap clap

There are plenty of photog there that night, most armed with their big big telephoto lens, and only me with the tiny lil 50mm f1.8...
malu to go near them hahahha....
NEWS UPDATE: A photographer was being question and somehow seems to be going into custody for taking a picture of our local policeman while they were busy replying their sms'es.
No la, just a joke... apparently the policemen were impress with this photog and even ask him to show them the photo of which he took if the outrider bike of theirs..
Malaysian policeman are very friendly indeed...

one of the photog with his humungus telephoto lens..while the assistance (which role is to hold the photog water bottle) looks on..

The mood of the night...

"god, give me some air, i cant breathe in here.. By the way, can YOU please find me my mum?"

A lil girl waiting eagerly for the wouth-watering cotton candy..

taiwan grass jelly.. Nice.. a real savour for a hot and damp night...

the stone drawer.. artistic..

Sabah-born David Blaine, trying to impress.. but it seems the audience was a bit sceptical...
look at the girl face..

Good business..

no business :(

Just to play with my 50mm, no story to tell...

THE RED LANTENS

The CNY must have delicacies..
Pomelos, nian kau, arrowhead crackers..
the taiwan tea?? no la.. its not chinese new year delicacies, but good for health also..
THE RED DECOR

RED, RED, RED
P/s my mum finally get to go to the night market, after 8 years.. on the following night..

A woman's love

Well today's blog has nothing to do with my camera.. but i really must pen it down...To remind myself and every GUY around me on the love of a woman.

I am in Sandakan Hospital today to commission a few obstetric beds(the beds where our mum use to lie on when giving us the first glimpse of the world). So i was there doing my usual SOP (standard of procedure) suddenly i saw a woman giving birth!! I didnt see very clearly but from the way she was place on the obstetric bed, i know what is going on. Then the Sister quickly shut the curtain. Please, i am not a bit HAM SAP ok..

During that time, i believe it is the most sacred moment of everyone's life.

A Mother fighting every strength she has got within herself to give life to the baby with whom she is in love with.

i was there (outside the curtain of course) during the whole process, from the moment the nurses-cum-cheerleader around her cheering and giving her support (ya, kuat lagi, sikit lagi.. sikit lagi, kuat lagi, sikit lagi... ) until the moment where i heard (for the first time in my life) the first cry of the newborn.

Its very hard to describe the atmosphere in writing but i just have to say

Mother's Love is the Greatest

Just imagine (guys), imagine u have a real painful constipation.. let say your shit(usually in log-like shape) circumference is around 2 inches in diameter la, and its rock hard inside your anus,.. try imagine you wanted to push that freaking rock or LOG out of your exit.. You will be crying for help and felt as if your anus gonna crack wider... i have the personal experience in this and believe me, i give up and i left the bathroom with that log still inside me.. Then i drank a few big glasses of water and continue the job. Its one pain that i will remember for the rest of my life.

And that is just a 2 inches diameter log.

Imagine your mum when trying to give birth to you, though u are tiny, but your tiny little head still will almost give 5 inches of diameter! And she cant tell the nurse halfway "Boleh stop skejap ah, banyak penat o... sakit tak payah cakap la.., boleh ka.?? minum air dulu ka??" If she stop half way, well you can say goodbye to the world and start queuing again la (for reborn) ...

those who are still young (stupid) enough to NOT know what love making is about, please leave the page.

have you seen those japanese porn movies? Look at the girls face the moment the penetration begins ( i am trying to be as intellectual as possible, i dont want to be link to gutteruncensored blog... yet), some of them almost cried. (Dont talk about those kwai poh la, those fella i really believe they can shove anything inside one.. like black hole) And Japanese guys male organ is not anywhere near the newborn's head circumference. So now can you (guys) do the maths, how much pain your mum or your wife (be it future or present) endure when they are giving birth to you or your offsprings?

Let me share something i found out from my wife to all the ignorant guys out there, when woman are in labor, if their vagina are not big enough, doctor would have to
USE SCISSORS TO CUT IT TO MAKE THE OPENING BIGGER!!!

Imagine, when u are in real pain-in-the-ass, literally, due to constipation, then the doctor told you

"Sir, i would have to cut open your anus to ease the congestion within your exit"

hahahhahaha... i believe, every guys who read it right now will sit with their leg cross thightly...

So back to the point,

Please love the women in your life.

Love your mum as she struggle with death ( it is, back in 20 or 30 years back, mortality rate is higher amongst pregnant woman) to give life to you. LOVE THEM and RESPECT THEM like how you would ASS-LICK your boss for salary increment.

Love your wife, as she is fighting the pain that you (guys) will never get to feel (lucky bastard hahaha), to give birth to your child. Woman is not purposely made for man to give birth to your child. They do it because they love you so much that they want you to be happy to be a dad, they just want to show you their utmost love. Some pretty shallow brain out there still dare to blame their wife when they have got whatever they dont want . This kind of man, really should get a big tight slap on their stupid face.

LOVE YOUR WIFE like how you would love yourself, if possible, love them more than yourself because when they give birth to your child, they never think of their own risk, they just want to give you a child. They dont mind if they would die in the middle of the process. Woman are the greatest.

God really treated us guys very very very good as compared to the woman. only the woman would need to bear this kind of inexplainable pain. So please compensate god's love to them with yours.

so,

GIVE THESE TWO WOMEN IN YOUR LIFE , EVERY DROP OF LOVE THAT YOU HAVE WITHIN YOU AS THEY HAVE ALREADY DID.

p/s I am not saying woman who cant give birth is not loving their husband 101%. Just the thought of getting pregnant with your baby has exceeded the love scale.

Just my 2 cents..

Pink, Red, Yellow

Pink= love
Red= Courage
Yellow= Majestic

a simple advice

plan what you want
do what you have planned
never regret on what you have done.
